How to Use OnSite Checklist
A step-by-step guide to build checklists, conduct inspections, and generate PDF reports.
OnSite Checklist has two main sections: Templates and Inspections. Create a template with categories and questions, then use it to run an inspection. You can build templates in the app or on the Web Template Builder and import them into the app. Follow these steps to get started.
1. Install the app
Download OnSite Checklist from the App Store or Google Play and open it on your Android or iOS device (phone or tablet).
2. Create a template
In the Templates section, create a new template. Add categories (main sections) and subcategories if needed. Add questions (tests) to each category. You can also use the Web Template Builder on your desktop, then email the template to yourself and import it into the app.
3. Create an inspection
From the Inspections section, create a new inspection based on one of your templates. Add inspection details such as title, reference number, date, address, client details, and auditor details. You can add more questions at runtime if needed.
4. Conduct the inspection
For each question (test) in the inspection:
- Choose Pass, Fail, or NA (not applicable).
- Add comments and photos (multiple photos per test are supported).
- Add actions with assignee, due date, and completion status if needed.
5. Photos and annotations
Attach multiple photos to each test item. You can mark up photos and add comments. Each photo can have a captured date and time. This is useful for home inspections, food safety, site audits, and more.
6. Work offline
OnSite Checklist works fully offline. You can create templates and run inspections without an internet connection. When you are back online, generate and share PDF reports.
7. Generate PDF reports
When the inspection is complete, generate a PDF report with filters (assignee, date range, actions, etc.). Customise the report with site photo, location map, company and client details, auditor and manager signatures. Share via email, Dropbox, Google Drive, or other apps.
8. Settings and customisation
Use Settings to customise the app (report options, labels, and other preferences). Check the in-app Help section for more details.
